Статья раскрывает небольшую часть музыкальной истории всемирно известного Ордена Золотого руна. В ней повествуется об истории создания Ордена, а также об обычаях музыкального оформления встреч его кавалеров. На основе сохранившихся описаний так называемого Фазаньего банкета делаются предположения о музыке, его сопровождавшей. Документы, повествующие о торжественной встрече в Брюсселе в 1501 году, дают повод предположить, что на ней мог звучать утраченный
Реквием Гийома Дюфаи. Высказывается предположение о том, что мотет Жоскена Депре «Ut Phoebi radiis» был написан специально для брюссельского собрания Ордена. Также приводится краткое описание встречи кавалеров, произошедшей в 1531 году в Турне.
