Series and It’s Permutations in the Opera Ulisse by Luigi Dallapiccola

Abstract

Dallapiccola’s Ulisse is outstanding phenomenon in music theatre of the twentieth-century and the most
important work of the first Italian composer who successively used twelve-tone technique. The opera contains
10 twelve-tone rows, derivative of the principal row. This article has detailed analysis of opera series and
methods of motive’s permutations.
