The Journal of Moscow Conservatory (Nauchnyy vestnik Moskovskoy konservatorii) is quarterly founded in 2009. It is issued since 2010. We publish research papers, review articles, roundtable discussions, annotated scholarly editions of primary sources (including Russian translations) in a broad range of topics related to musicology. The book reviews are also presented on the pages of the Journal.
The main language of the Journal is Russian. Some articles are published in English and if appropriate in other European languages; in such cases, the online version of the Journal may additionally publish these articles in Russian.
The ethical policies of the Journal are based on the principles of the International Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE).
Manuscripts submitted for publication must be original and previously unpublished. The decision on publication is carried out by the Editorial Board on the basis of double-blind peer review by the leading local and foreign experts, whose research field is as close as possible to the topics of peer-reviewed articles. The main criteria for the acceptance of manuscripts are conceptual novelty, richness of evidence, interaction with up-to-date academic literature.
The Journal is included in the List of Russian peer-reviewed journals recommended by Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science for the publication of main scientific results of dissertations for the degrees of Candidate of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences.
The Journal is represented in the Russian Science Citation Index and in the Scientific Electronic Library eLIBRARY.RU.
The journal is indexed in database Scopus.
