Heads of the Medieval Fiddles from Archaeological Excavations in the North-West of Russia (1954– 2004) and Their Design Features

Abstract

The article presents description and systematization of the materials of archaeological expeditions to the North-West of Russia (Pskov and Novgorod) from 1954 to 2004. The analysis of the design features of the medieval fiddles allowed distinguishing the basic components typical form of the instrument and location pegs in its heads.
