Soviet-Czechoslovak Harp Connections (Based on B. Dobrodinsky’s Letters to M. P. Mchedelov)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the Soviet-Czechoslovak harp contacts of the second half of the 20th century. It is based on translations of letters from the brilliant Czech artist B. Dobrodinsky to one of the prominent Soviet harpers of the time M. P. Mchedelov. The presented historical documents are valuable material, illustrating for the first time the intercultural contacts of harpers of the aforementioned period. These letters also make it possible to specify in many respects the creative portrait of B. Dobrodinsky, on the legacy of which so far there was only general information.
