Biography

Born in Barabinsk, Novosibirsk region. In 1963 graduated from the Music History and Theory Department, Gorky Conservatory, in 1968 completed postgraduate course (scientific advisor — Prof. D. V. Zhitomirsky). Ph.D. thesis: The Instrumental Works of Paul Hindemith (1976); Doctor of Fine Arts, thesis: Russian Music of the Early 20th Century in the Artistic Context of the Era (1992). Editor and co-author of the textbook History of Russian Music of the Second Half of the 20th Century (2005). Since 1963 she has been teaching in the Nizhny Novgorod (Gorky) Conservatory; professor, head of the Music History Subdepartment; reads the course of history of 20th century Russian music at the Musicological Department. Author of monographs Paul Hindemith. Life and Work (with O. T. Leontyeva, 1974), Russian Music of the Early 20th Century in the Artistic Context of the Era (1991), Scriabin and the Artistic Quests of the 20th Century (2007), over one hundred articles and essays on problems of the 20th century music.
