Biography

Born in 1977. In 2002 graduated from the Department of Music History and Theory of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (class of Ass. Prof. Daniil Petrov). Among his other teachers — Full Profs. Inna Barsova, Larissa Kirillina, Evgeny Levashyov, Vyacheslav Medushevsky, Evgeny Nazaykinsky, Mikhail Saponov, Elena Sorokina, Yury Kholopov, Ekaterina Tsaryova, Valeria Tsenova. In 2007 successfully defended Ph. D. thesis "The Restoration of Works by Tchaikovsky in the History of Russian Musical Textual Criticism" (scientific advisor— Ass. Prof. Daniil Petrov). From 2003 to the present— Senior Research Fellow of Department of Documents and Personal Archives of Russian National Museum of Music. From 2007 to the present— Senior Research Fellow of the Music History Department of the State Institute for Art Studies. Author of more than 50 published works, including research papers, publications of documents and annotated catalogues. Also he has written about 60 articles for encyclopedia "P. I. Tchaikovsky" and in co-operation with Polina E. Vaydman prepared the volume of early orchestral overtures by Tchaikovsky for the New Complete Edition (both are forthcoming). The main research interests are: the history of Russian music and musical science (in part of musical textual criticism and source study of musical culture), life and creative activities by Tchaikovsky, theory and practice of critical editing of musical texts.
