Alexander V. Naumov

Born in Moscow (1976). Graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory as a musicologist (1999, class of Prof. Valentina Kholopova) and from the Moscow Maimonid Academy as an Oratorio-Liedersinger (2005, class of prof. Alexey Martynov). Ph. D. thesis: “Funeral March: History and Theory of Genre” (2001, scientific advisor — Prof. Valentina Kholopova). Associate Professor at the Russian Music Subdepartment of the Moscow Conservatory (since 2003). The main scientific interests are the music of drama theatre, stylistic problems of vocal art, dramatic concept of opera.
