Biography

Fellow at the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies (IEET) and teaches philosophy at the University of Erfurt. Born in Wetzlar in 1973. Studied philosophy at King’s College London (BA), the University of Durham (MA by thesis), the Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen and the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (Dr. phil.). In recent years, he taught at the Universities of Jena, Erfurt, Klagenfurt and Erlangen-Nürnberg. He is a member of several editorial and advisory boards. In particular, he is Editorial Board member of the book series Musikphilosophie (Alber Verlag), editor of the book series Beyond Humanism: Trans- and Posthumanism / Jenseits des Humanismus: Trans- und Posthumanismus (Peter Lang Publishing), Editorial Board member (as Editorial Consultant) of the Journal of Evolution and Technology. His main fields of research are Nietzsche, the philosophy of music, bioethics and meta-, post- and transhumanism.
