Anna Giust

Anna Giust is currently working as an independent researcher. In 2013–14 she has been a lecturer of Russian at University Ca’ Foscari of Venice. She holds a Ph.D. in History and Criticism of visual and performing arts, obtained at University of Padua, Department of Visual Arts and Music, with the discussion of the thesis Towards Russian Opera: Growing National Consciousness in 18^th-Century Operatic Repertoire (2012, in English). Her previous educational history includes a master degree in Musicology at University Ca’ Foscari of Venice (2008) and a master degree in Russian Language and Literature at University of Venice (2004). She also graduated from the Conservatory A. Pedrollo (Vicenza) as a classical guitarist (2005). She is the author of several articles concerning Russian music theatre from the 18^th up to the 20^th century, as well as of two monographs: Ivan Susanin di Catterino Cavos, Un’opera russa prima dell’opera russa (Torino, 2011) and Cercando l’opera russa, La formazione di una coscienza nazionale nel repertorio operistico del Settecento (Milano, 2014).
