Lilit K. Epremyan


Musicologist, psychologist, sociologist, journalist, translator. Born in Yerevan in 1963. Graduated from Komitas Yerevan State Conservatory as a musicologist and then completed her post-graduate studies in the State Institute of Art Studies (Moscow). Ph.D. thesis: The Problem of Ethnical Tradition in Musical Culture of Armenia (Having as an Instance the Town Musical Culture of Yerevan in the 1980s). Since 1987 she has been teaching (since 2002 — as Associate Professor) at Komitas Yerevan Conservatory (the History of Russian Music, Psychology, Pedagogics, The Basics of the Musical Scientific-Pedagogical Activity). In 1996–2003 she was a correspondent of Yerevan newspaper Novoe Vremya (The New Times). She is the author of the monograph Edward Mirzoyan in Letters and Dialogues (Yerevan, 2011) and about 500 articles, including those on the problem of the transgeneration trauma of the Armenian genocide. She is the Chairman of the International Fund of Psychologists “Aik”.
