Born in Moscow in 1960. In 1984 graduated from the Department of Music Theory and Composition of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Since 1985 to 1992 worked as Research Fellow of the musical editorial board of Publishing House “Soviet Encyclopedia”. In 1994–2010— Research Fellow of Computation Centre of Moscow Conservatory; participated in publishing projects of Moscow Conservatory. In 1997 underwent postgraduate studies in Vienna. In 2002–2016— Senior Research Fellow of the musical editorial board of Publishing House “Great Russian Encyclopedia”. From 2010 to the present — Research Fellow of the Research Center for Methodology of Historical Musicology at the Subdepartment of Foreign Music History of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
