Biography

Born in Voronezh in 1971, graduated from the Piano Department of Academic Music College at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (1990), the Music Theory and History Department of Moscow Conservatory (1994). Ph.D. (1996; thesis: Athanasius Kircher’s  Musurgia  universalis: Musical Science in the Context of the Early Baroque Musical Practice (scientific advisors Profs. Yury N. Kholopov and Mikhail A. Saponov, 1996). Since 1996 he has been teaching at the Foreign Music History Subdepartment of Moscow Conservatory. Associate Professor since 2004.
